Weibo users MEGA-Decepticon & JakeToys have posted images from what is claimed to be an accidental early listing on Hasbro China's Taobao store of 2020 releases. Besides Movie Masterpiece Ratchet and Starscream, we've got a scattering of Generations Earthrise figures that strikes us as very interesting if true.
First off, the expected: Titan Scorponok, who was partially revealed at NYCC 2019 as is custom. Then there's Deluxe Runamuck, which was the 2019 Fan's Choice poll winner.
From there, things get interesting with a Commander Class Sky Lynx, which strikes us as a great use of the size class. Then we go from interesting to weird with a Voyager Class Quintesson. How that could be executed (ahem) as a modern Voyager figure is an interesting puzzle.
And then we go from weird to wild with Deluxe Quintessa. That one is fascinating because we're not even sure what that would be. The placeholder image given is of Planet Quintessa, which we kind of doubt would be a Deluxe unless HasLabs Unicron needs a convenient snacking planet. But if not, what would it be? It could be a new character adapted from the Transformers: The Last Knight plot device of the same name, possibly. If so, our most out-there wish would be that she either turn into a Quintesson ship, or that she be a Modulator that could build at least part of a Quintesson courtroom/Sharkticon pit.
...again, if any of this is actually genuine. The fact that we seem to have multiple sources in a short time supports it, but stranger things have happened. Or, more accurately, not happened.
The Quintessons could be the new "mercenary" faction that is included in the earthrise descriptions. They could be filled out with the sharkticon that was included as an option in the fan poll if I remember correctly along with all the other ideas people have had for mercenaries. Unexpected and welcome.
