Colossus - G2 - Figure

Exclusive to most of Europe, Colossus also went by the name of Clench in some countries. This was one of a few toys that bridged the gap between the intial and second generation of Transformers.

Tech Specs:
Decepticon: Colossus
"I will not rest until the last Autobot is crushed to nothing and the Decepticons rule."

A vehicle of terrifying power and pure evil. Combines a keen brain with diabolical cruelty. His whole being is dedicated to vengeance. A nightmare opponent, powered by pure hate and throws aside anybody foolish enough to get in his way. As a vehicle attacks from all sides with vast weapon power and does terrible damage with his vicious, rear mounted grabbing claw. Menacing in intermediate mode as a multi-purpose battle station. As a gigantic robot, towers terrifyingly above all.

Watch out! He's attacking from all sides with "vast weapon power!" Aren't tech specs fun?

Vehicle mode:
It's a... uh... truck of some kind. One of those long nosed (whatever they're called) cabs with a short trailer behind it. The trailer houses the battle platform and in vehicle mode, the launcher and stabilizer (called a grabber claw on the tech specs (above)). Nice and dark color scheme (dark, speckled blue with some gray highlights mostly) gives Colossus a truly evil appearance as opposed to his overly bright counterpart; Spark. On a side not; I found it fun putting the stickers on this toy. Im not sure why since I'm usually against them. Still, I wouldn't want to return to them. Just paint the toys right and I'll be happy.

Robot mode:
His missile platform kicks major skidplate! With a push-button, flip-up targeting grid and some really awesome firing action, this is what the G1/G2 toys were all about (well, maybe not *all* about); big guns! Colossus himself is no slouch either. He features three points of articulation in each arm and two in each leg. Even the hot pink on his arms and legs works well with his fearsome look. This is what should have been Megatron's new form instead of that G2-Brickbot "Megatron Attack!" bright green tank. Colossus I would fear, fluorescent green and purple Megs, no.

Overall:
If you can find this toy, buy it. You won't be disappointed. Nice gimmicks, great color scheme and poseability make Colossus a truly great toy. It's really a shame he and some of the other G2 toys weren't released stateside.
