Tech Specs
Autobot: Race Car Patrol
Function: Reconnaissance

"In confusion there is opportunity."

The self-described "tiny terrors of the turnpikes." This frantic foursome's primary role is to reconnaissance battle sites before the Autobots' big guns arrive. Fast and fearless. Don't mind mixing it up with any early arriving Decepticons. A vital component in the Autobot ranks. Adept at using their superior maneuverability to harass the enemy.

Tailspin: "Put the petal to the metal."
Tailspin is a blue formula-style Porsche racecar measuring 2 1/8” in length, 1” in width and ½” in height. The details etched into the various sections of the car remain unpainted. In fact, the only other colors are the gray windows and hubcaps and the black tires. To transform, swing up the front of the car and swing the rear of the car out. Position the arms as shown.

Now standing at 2 5/16” in height, Tailspin has a bit more color. His arms and lower legs are blue along with the hood overhang above his head. The torso and upper legs are mainly gray with some red highlights in his face, chest, and abdomen area. He also has what looks like three missiles on either side of his head. Like most Micromasters, Tailspin has shoulder, hip and knee joints. Sadly, his legs are also connected at the knee, preventing independent use.

Free Wheeler: "Avoid the potholes on the road of life."
Measuring in at 2” in vehicle mode, Free Wheeler is a yellow Lamborghini Countach. Like his teammates, the only painted features are his windows, which are black. While transformation is identical in design to Tailspin, Free Wheeler has less of his hood section on his back.

At just a hair under 2” in robot mode, Free Wheeler has the same articulation as his teammates. His arms and lower legs are yellow while his head, torso, and upper legs are red. There is some white paint highlighting his face and the vents on his chest as well. His arms, since they each have the entire door on them are rather bulky looking.

Roadhandler: "Unwary warriors soon become wrecks."
The shortest in length of the team, Roadhandler is a mere 1 15/16” in length. He is primarily red with black painted windshield, windows, and sunroof. He resembles a Chevrolet Corvette, though I am by no means a car expert. His transform is the same as Tailspin and Free Wheeler.

In robot mode, Road handler comes in at 2 1/16”. Unlike his patrol partners, his secondary color comes through more in robot mode. While his arms and lower legs are red, his head, torso, and upper legs (which are longer than the others) are yellow. The black highlights of the rear windows show up and there are some blue paint applications to his face and waist.

Swindler: "Burn rubber, not energon."
A Gray De Lorean, Swindler measures in at 2” in length. His windows and windshield are painted black. His transformation, however, differs slightly from the rest of the patrol. Instead of folding the front of the car back, it actually folds down, becoming the chest plate.

So, unlike his brothers, his primary color doesn’t change when in robot mode. He measures 2” to the top of his head or 2 ¼” to the top of his shoulders. His secondary color is blue, used for his head and upper legs. His face is painted a light orange. Articulation is the same as the rest.

Overall
The Race Car Patrol is a neat group of toys. Some of the later released patrols and squads seem to be more detailed though. Still, they are of good quality and well worth picking up. I have it on good authority that they know how to wrestle as well.
