Hellscream - Beast Wars New - Figure

Hellscream is the Angolmois-enhanced version of BW2 Starscream after he was blown into the stuff by Gigastorm. No longer a piggyback jet, he is now a cyborg shark armed to the teeth and ready to rip!

Beast Mode
A recolour/remould of the original Cybershark toy, Hellscream's main colours are lavender, bone-white, and metallic blue-green, with red, black, yellow, and metallic silver highlights. He measures 25 cm(10") from snout to tail tip. Like Cybershark, Hellscream has just two points of articulation in this mode: his ball-jointed pectoral fins.

What an incredible creature this is! Although his main body is normal, his fins, head, and tail are a whole different story. First off, the upper part of his head is completely robotic, with laser scopes for eyes, extra teeth, and a snout shaped like a butcher knife. Gonna poke some holes in unwary tourist boats and sink 'em. The headplate launches exactly like Cybershark's, but doesn't travel far due to its bulk. Next, his pectoral fins boast twin harpoon guns ready to spear some prey. His dorsal fin has what appears to be a conning tower built into it, with red windows and even a tiny radar. A shark-submarine, how cool is that? Finally, his tail is an enormous submarine rotor, complete with four stabiliser fins and a moulded propeller that doesn't turn. If Sky-Byte is Jaws meets the Terminator, then Hellscream is Deep Blue Sea meets Red October.

But what's really neat is that the heads and tails of Cybershark and Hellscream are actually interchangeable, allowing you to create TWO distinct cyborg sharks! It's Mecha-Tail and Chopperhead, ready to show all of Florida some REAL carnage! Hold on to your limbs, folks!

Transformation
Same as Cybershark's, with just one twist. The tail piece attaches to his left arm to form a giant cannon.

Robot Mode
In robot mode, Hellscream stands 14 cm(5.5") tall. The insides of his shark halves are dark blood, with a Destron/Predacon rub symbol located on the left one. His body is mostly black and lavender, with a cybernetic left thigh, the big honkin' cannon on his left arm, and a completely remoulded head. It's blue-green with a black face, red and yellow eyes, and a mouth full of silver teeth (straight ones, not pointed like Cybershark's).

Hellscream is articulated at the head, shoulders, upper arms, elbows, hips, knees, thighs, and ankles. He comes with the same two shark-shaped missiles as Cybershark, only his are black. He can launch them from his arm cannon and his chest launcher, or hold one at each end of his fist to form a battle staff. The arm cannon has quite an impressive range, two metres or more. The shark headplate fits in his right fist as a weapon. In addition, the blade can detach from the headplate to become either an axe weapon or a missile that can be fired from the chest launcher or the arm cannon. Except now the rest of the headplate has nothing to do and nowhere to go.

Overall
Suspsy Sez: Hellscream is an awesome toy, in part because Cybershark was already a great toy. The cybernetic parts look cool and deadly, especially the harpoon gun fins and the conning tower dorsal fin. The robot mode is even niftier, with a beautifully sculpted head and that bigass arm cannon of his. Only problem is, the cannon's so big and so heavy that Hellscream may tip over if he's not balanced right. Other than that, however, he rules.
