Max B - Beast Wars Neo - Figure

Max B is the Angolmois-enhanced version of BB after he and Starscream were dunked in the stuff by Gigastorm in the BWII series. Now instead of an ATB, he's a cyborg wolf, ready to cry havoc, tear Cybertrons limb from limb, and sully their lawns!

Beast Mode
An extensive recolour/remould of K-9, Max B measures 21 cm(8") from nose to tail tip. Main colours are dark gray and metallic silver, with red, purple, and black highlights. Like his partner Hellscream, he's not the most poseable of beasts, with just four points of articulation in his rear legs. Also like Hellscream, Max B is one ferocious and frightful-looking beastie. The left side of his head is covered in cybernetic doohickies, including a yellow scope over his eye and a mechanical ear. His back boasts a missile launcher, small wings, and jet thrusters. His left thigh and right lower leg are mechanical as well, and his tail ends in a huge black spiked ball similar to that found on a mace. When this doggiebot wags his tail, he ain't bein' friendly!

Max B comes with two anchor-shaped missiles which store inside his upper body, with the pointed ends protruding from his chest. Loading one of the missiles into the launcher built into his back and then pressing the silver button causes the missile to fire for a distance of about a meter. Even more impressive, a pair of giant claws flip out from his sides, seizing and impaling Max B's victims! Only thing is, you've got to make sure his back legs don't get in the way, otherwise the claws won't swing out when you press the button.

As well, his robot forearms are clearly visible on his underside.

Transformation
Same as Wolfang's and K-9's, the only difference being that his back panel becomes a weapon instead of a shield.

Robot Mode
In robot mode, Max B stands 14 cm(5.5") tall. Like the other Cyborg Beasts, he's got a completely new head, silver and gray with a purple face, a snarling mouth, and a yellow electronic monocle over his left eye. He's one of the more kibble-laden figures, with the wolf haunches hanging off his waists, wolf legs hanging off his arms, and wolf head shoulder pads. He is articulated at the head, shoulders, upper arms, elbows, thighs, knees, and ankles.

In this mode, Max B has not one, but two missile launchers, formed from the wolf back and tail. The tail launcher can rotate around to function as a mace weapon and the snapping claws work better in this mode now that there's nothing to potentially hinder them. Due to the weapons' sheer size, Max B has a slight tendency to fall over forwards if his legs aren't angled back enough.

Overall
Suspsy Sez: Like the other Cyborg Beasts, Max B is an excellent toy, with cool features and above-average gimmicks, plus the fact that he was remoulded after a good BW toy. He carries slightly more beast kibble in robot mode than the other Cyborgs, but aside from that, he's a winner all the way. Nab him if you have the means and money.
