He didn't keep the kickassedly blasphemous moniker of "God Magnus," but he still kept the kickass. I love that toy, I love this character. Granted, his enemies don't exactly put up much of a fight - they've got the aim of Vehicons. But when he's the ONLY character who can hit a target ten feet in front of him, he still scores massive relative points. Plus his chain-guns have that neat bullet-firing sound. RATATATATATA->
Whee. Violence.
On the other hand, this ep still besmirched itself with plenty of cringe-worthy stupidity. For instance, what IS up with everyones piss-poor aim? No wonder the 'Bot Bros. were worried about hitting the oil tanks - how could they hit anything else? Is it just lazy animation that makes every shot look like it's hitting the highly-explosive dirt
at the characters' feet? Can't have someone get blasted - that would require MOVING a body part or two.
Also, I know it's for the so-called comic relief that Sky-Byte was digging his hole with a shovel, but for crap's sake, HE SWIMS THROUGH THE GROUND!!! We've seen it a thousand times now. Why waste time digging when you can just dive right in? If you're going to make a sight gag, _make it consistent with what's been established._ Sky-Byte hitting a boulder as he dirt-dives? Not funny, really, but at least passable.
Moving on, I'm glad someone here pointed out that "O-Parts" was a transliteration of the Japanese word for "strange artifact" or some such. That still doesn't explain how those kids knew about Sky-Byte's anti-Decepticon crusade, but whatever. Maybe Koji found out from the 'Bots. I dunno.
Man, Ruination is just _brittle,_ isn't he? How do the Commandos stick themselves together, with Scotch tape?
Translation question: I remember hearing way back when that that U-Mag's Car Robots origin involved Vector Sigma having chosen Optimus to carry the Matrix. In RiD, however, they just say it was the Matrix that chose. Am I right about this discrepancy?
Hey, no Kelly! Maybe they figured they could get away with just having her in part two. Speaking of which, does anyone know whether the follow-up will be on Monday or Saturday? I would guess Saturday, but maybe SirSTACK could fill us in...
Okay, I'm done.
