Thrust & Inferno - Armada - Figures

Inferno:

Inferno, a classic name, is now reborn in Transformers: Armada as a...well actually, I have no idea WHAT it is.... Some sort of transport truck that's mostly army green and light gray, with some lime green. Measures roughly three inches, including the missle.

robot mode: In robot mode, it's a stocky little robot with a bird-like face that distinctly reminds me of TMII Prowl. O_O''

According to the instructions, the missle is facing down. However, I have a personal taste and like to remove and reattach it with the missle facing up. His waist also swivels for some unknown reason.

'Attack mode': Inferno doing push-ups. Whee.

Thrust:

Vehicle mode: It's some kind of military jet. That's all I can say design-wise. It measures about six inches from thrusters to nose tip. It's mostly various shades of gray, but with a couple of shades of green as well as an orange spray at the tip of the thrusters, most likely to indicate burning. Nice touch. It has three powerlinx, all of them 'dead.' One under each wing (which are obscured by the missles) and on at the back, specifically for storing Inferno. I find this empty space rather uncomfortable, so I plug Inferno into it all the time. And is has a Decepticon symbol on the right-hand wing.

It has two lime-green missles. Marble-shooters to be precise. Add a spring-loaded one if you add Inferno. Fire the third one by pulling back on Inferno a bit.

robot mode: More light gray, more green, and a touch of red and purple is added into the mix now. Now it's probably easier to attach something to the powerlinx on the wings, but, as before, it's obscured by something. This time, the chunky arms, made from the thrusters. There are two holes on the sides of the arms that WERE meant to hold the missles on the shins, but was scrapped for safety reasons. Damn you, Hasbro....However, they CAN hold Inferno's cannon.

The leg joints on mine are a bit loose, but it may be just me. Contact me if I'm wrong. Anyways, I managed to make him more stable by pegging the little pegs on the sides of the cockpit (where the feet peg into in vehicle mode) to two little holes on the sides of the lower thigh areas.

"Whirlwind" attack mode: This attack mode is made by pulling out the wings, turning the head and waist (a la Primal) and making everything else go splat. Then attach Inferno to the 'live' powerlink on his chest and pull down, making the wings spin, albeit not very well.

overall: While this toy has some weak points, it also has some strong points. Mildly recommended.
