Starscream - Smallest G1 - Figure

Air Commander Starscream of the Decepticon Battle Fleet never looked so cute. The Smallest Transformers version gives me the impression of how Aaron from "Child's Play" must have felt having a cool little jet that could transform into a whiny little robot.

Set Includes
Starscream comes with the most accessories of any of the first wave of Smallest Transformers. In addition to a small foldout booklet detailing his box art, tech specs, and instructions, Starscream has two missile launchers, two robot hands, two wings, and two sets of rudder fins. He is also the longest toy in this assortment measuring in at a whopping 3 5/16" long. And most of the details from the original, larger version follow through in this version. He even has retractable landing gear, which is an improvement in my opinion, and a blue nosecone.

Start-Change-Finish
Transformation is nearly identical to the original version. Remove the weapons and wings and flip down the rear landing gear. Split the interior of the fuselage open and rotate around to form the arms. Bring the cockpit down while swinging the nosecone through the gap made by the arms and around until the robot head is revealed, then bring the cone back. Swing the tail rudder assemblies down and attach the wings, fists, and weapons.

Transformation Completed
At 2 3/8" tall, Starscream is ready for action. As with his larger G1 counterpart, he lacks any real articulation outside of his shoulder joints. And with the exception of the wings having to jut out from the sides instead of being positioned slightly back, Smallest Starscream faithfully represents, yo. Even his tiny, tiny eyes are painted red to better match the cartoon model. His legs are removable from the hips down, so don't let that startle you.

Overall
Starscream is a nice addition to the Smallest TF line and considering the versatility of the larger version of the mold, I'd be surprised if we don't see Thundercracker, Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet in the future. Skywarp is, sadly, one of the chase figures in this assortment. Still, with the sheer number of extra pieces and their diminutive size, Starscream is also the most likely to lose parts should he be played with too often.
