Optimus Prime - Smallest G1 - Figure

In almost every line of Transformers toys, there has always been an Optimus, be it Prime or Primal. The Smallest Transformers line is no exception, though this is by far one of, if not the smallest Optimus Prime has ever been.

Set Includes
In addition to the small fold-out booklet detailing his Japanese box art, tech specs, and instructions, Optimus Prime comes with a downsized version of his signature rifle. It clamps around his arm in robot mode instead of plugging into his fist, but more on that later. He is 2" long and unlike his fellow Autobots, all of his wheels spin. There is a hitch for the trailer, sadly sold separately. But, if you have the SCF Prime in truck mode, the trailer can hook up to Smallest Prime, though it's a bit snug.

Start-Change-Finish
Bring the rear section down and flip the feet up. Pull out the middle section of the sides, grab the area around the smokestacks and swing forward. Flip up the robot head, slap on the rifle, and position the arms to your liking.

Transformation Completed
Standing at an astonishing 2 1/4" tall, Optimus Prime is ready for battle. His hips swivel back and forth, his shoulders can rotate back and he has ball-socket articulation at the elbow. With the exception of the truck headlights remaining in place, Prime looks very much like an original that was washed in hot water.

Overall
If you buy one toy from this assortment, Optimus Prime should be the one. The red plastic doesn't match completely in some places on the cab, otherwise he faithfully translates the original G1 version into a small, compact size and is a lot more sturdy than the others. Besides, it's Prime.
