Wheeljack & Windsheer - Armada - Figures

ok, well my Unicron review wasn't decimated, so I'll try this one out...

Just got my Wheeljack and company at the Kay Bee sale, so already life was good. Been wanting him just because he is a Renegade Autobot.

Appearance

Now this guy could almost make it in the G-1/G-2 line. Simple design, but hides the kibble very well in vehicle mode. Kind of like Sideswipes disgruntled little brother in a way. I really really like the scared Autobot symbol, and the fact that the Decepticon is like the decal I bought for my own car.

Wheeljack has 3 minicon link points, 2 static points in the back which I think are waaaay too close together. They should have looked at the Blur design for that. You can really only fit one m-con there...The one active point is in the center which activates "battle mode" oooooh....actually I like it. nice missle lauchers. Anyone remember MASK??? Yup, Wheeljack is Thunderhawk reborn! I kid you not! lol One thing I really like though is in this mode you get another Decepticon symbol on the side. Like revealing his true intentions. Unlike Sideways, this guy can pick a side. Robot mode is cool as well. You need to pop the "wings" first. pull the arms out of the sides and then flip the legs and hood forward. He kind of "folds" into place. Pull the back wheels apart and flip them into place while unfolding the little foot flaps. Again, disgruntled Little Swipe. Nice detail to the face and hands. The missles double as his hand to hand weapons and fit VERY well in his hands. His power link points are now on his knees and small of the back...and completly useless. Though I still bet he can whoop Hotshot to Cybertron and back.

Windsheer is a really nice Minicon. He is the same color scheme as wheeljack and looks pretty cool for battle mode. Transforming him is simple, flip legs back and rotate the legs around then fold him over. The engines become some cool looking blaster arms..

For the bottom line I give him a solid 8. Mostly because he would have fit in REALLY well in G1/2 with out the Armada gimicks (power links). As a stand alone figure I like him. But compared to some other Armada junk (a la Scrapper) he's even better. I hope he can carry over to Energon, but just not as a repaint.... As a side note, the fact he was "Ravage" in the Japanese version...well that just makes him just that cooler.
