Landmine - Energon - Figure

I picked up the only Wave 2 figure I was able to find along with Scorpinok recently, and I must say, I am extremely impressed with Landmine. He has some neat features and it quite cool looking. So, without further balbbing, lets get to the review.

VEHICLE MODE: Landmine's vehicle mode is quite pleasing, having some neat features that make him all the more wonderful. He has a "cab" so to speak, with a detachable back end that can become a stationary battle tank. On his front he has a snowplow-like plate, I guess all the better for ramming Decepticons. He has a tow cable in the back that can extend, and when you push a button, it VERY quickly retracts while making a noise. Right next to the tow cable is a gun that fires a missle when the button on it is pushed. Also, in the very back, Landmine has "claws" that cna fold up I guess rake stuff, or move something. If you ask me, Landmine seems like a Tow Truck, Construction Vehicle, and Snow Plow all in one.

TRANSFORMATION: It is actually very simple. First, detach his little tank, fold out his arms, and then pull out his legs by seperating the "snow shovel" in the front. Extend and then pull down his legs. Then flip back the arms, flip up the head, and push back the gray pice on the top of his chest. Push BOTH (yes, you have to use both of them) buttons forward on his arms (the buttons are on top and bottom) to push out his fists. Then he is done. You can leave his little tank as a tank, or transform it slightly to have a stationary cannon, well, not really a cannon, sorta like a little battle station.

ROBOT MODE: Theres not much to say except that Landmine looks great in robot mode. He doesnt have any bulky items that detract from his robot form, he is equal on all sides unlike other transformers seen in the past (like Beast Wars Megatron). He is a complete opposite of Optimus Prime in that he is skinny, very skinny, but he doesnt have to stay like that.....

POWERLINK: Yes, it is correct, Landmine has the Power of the Spark combination abilities. He combines with........himself. Yep, himself. That little tank I kept mentioning is what he combines with. Simply detach the treads from the tank and attach them to each of Landmine's arms (after sliding his fists back in his arms), and then put the other part on his back, and flip the guns so that they hang over his shoulder so he can shoot them.

ERM....SUPER ROBOT MODE: In this mode, Landmine stills impresses, although his arms are kinda lame. The really cool feature is what happens when you attach his "backpack" with the gun and tow cable to his back, you get a sound. Think Armada Overload, or to make it even more clear, think what the transformations sounded like in the G1 show

OVERALL: Landmine is excellent, well worth the $30 he costs. The only drawback I can find is that his powerlink form is a little of a letdown, and he has no gun to hold in his hands, even though the Energon saber will do. I give him a 10/10.
