Legends of Cybertron Wave 2 - Cybertron - Figuers

The return of the mini-mes are here. Through select stores, 4 more of the Legends class Cybertron figures are now available. I know for a fact that Fred Meyer stores in the Northwest (including Oregon, Washington and Idaho) carry the line, but I have not see anyone else carrying them. If you know of a place in your area, please comment on what retailer and what area. Although I've heard mixed feelings about these figures, I personally think they're good for the price.

The packaging is the same as in the first figures. There is one bit of false information on one though that I will go into detail about later. All figures are displayed in robot mode, with their stats and a caption on the back along with transform instructions. On to the reviews:

Evac

Overall a decent translation. The Alt mode is pretty faithful. The main differences is that now he has a 2-blade rotor versus the 4-blade and that the hook for the winch hook is missing on his now non-rotateable winch. His guns are now also stuck in the Key mode. His Robot mode is almost identical, except he has a real small body in proportion to the rest of him. Also, his tail halves are now permanently in the Attack mode. One other change is that his gun assembly is used to hide his head in Alt mode, so you can somewhat get them in Key mode but it doesn't look quite right.

Jetfire

This is also a decent translation. Instead of having the moving wheels under the belly, there are now 4 molded wheels. The other big difference is that his fists are permanently stuck out, so they're quite noticeable in Alt mode. The tail section does swing out for the Key mode. However, since the Alt mode Key function was mediocre anyhow, I don't see much good in it. His robot mode is pretty nice. The arms don't slide forward so they look somewhat misplaced. One nice addition is that the wings now have a hinge towards the end, so you can fold them up or down. This cuts back on the width. Now for the aforementioned innaccuracy. The display box shows that his tail can be position in the key mode for robot mode. I tried, but couldn't get it to work without his body being out of whack.

Leobreaker

The alt mode of this figure is mixed. The haunches on the rear legs are molded in and don't fold back like the Voyager figure. Also, since there are fists molded on the arms, you have to fold the claws out in Key mode in order to make the front legs look somewhat believeable. Besides that, a pretty nice translation. The transform for robot mode is a nice touch. Instead of being on 2 hinges, it slides into place. The only real difference with robot mode is that the tail is permanently attached, so he doesn't get to use the jungle whip. Sadly, there is no Savage Claw mode.

Scourge

If I had any real disappointments, it was with this figure. The alt mode is ok, except that there is a gaping hole in the chest area since they took the chestplate out. Also, he's been shortened up a bit since you can't slide his torso down. It's the robot mode that looks somewhat wrong. The fists are molded as part of the front claws, so he has a look like his arms are permanently bent at the elbow. However, he does have elbow joints. It just doesn't look right to me. Also, he loses his axe since his tail is now permanently attached. Like Leobreaker, it folds up behind his back.

At least his Key mode works in both Alt and robot forms. At $4 a figure, you can't knock them too much. They make great additions for the desktop at least.
