Giant Planet Minicon Team - Cybertron - Figure

The Giant Planet team are one of the few original minicon molds in the Cybertron line. This team works on their own and terrorizes the cities abandoned by the larger residents of Gigantian.

Alt Modes

Name: DeepDive, Alt mode: Submarine

Name: Overcast, Alt mode: Jet

Name: Longarm, Alt mode: Crane Truck

This minicon set is different from most others in that there is a representative from each transportation mode. DeepDive is a water based craft, Overcast air based and Longarm land based. The colors are very nicely done. DeepDive is a grey with blue accents representing clinging water. Overcast is a deep blue with purple accents. Longarm is a fitting construction green with purple accents. Overcast has manually launching missiles on either wing. While they look massively out of proportion with the rest of his body, they don't overly clash.

Longarm has dual cranes. In the front, he has a claw crane. In the rear, he has a hook crane. Each crane can operate independently of each other and rotate up to 180 degrees.

Deepdive has a minicon port on his cockpit. While the instructions officially show Overcast being able to 'dock' with Deepdive, Longarm has that same ability. This could be considered handy for cross-oceanic missions.

Robot Modes

Their robot forms are interesting to say the least. DeepDive has a transformation similar to the GoBot Divedive of years ago. Subsequently, he has massive shoulder overhangs. Then there's the subject of his enormous feet. A very strange looking robot, but poseable due to elbow, shoulder, hip and elbow joints. Overcast reminds me of Armada Makeshift in both his transformation and his overall look. The arms are permanently bent, but he does have shoulder, hip and knee joints. Finally, there is Longarm. The cranes in his Alt mode form hjis arms. They come out rather spindly looking and have no elbows. The legs have hip and knee joints. Overall, a very nice set to have. Too bad there were only 2 original mold minicon teams in this line.
