It's been a while since I've written one of these so please bear with me while I get back into my stride. Since the Alternators line seems to be on the way out the door I thought I'd take a few moments from my busy day at work to express my opinion on a few items that so far nobody has remarked on. The subject I'm writing about today is conversion sticker sheets as offered from Reprolabels.com.
Divebomb
The alternative for Ricochet is the Decepticon Predacon Divebomb. The sticker sheet includes front and rear plates, hood, doors, windshield and roof. there are also stickers to go on the spoiler but I chose to leave these off (I wasn't sure where they went until after I had applied them a few different places and the glue was getting used up). The wing design is G1 in look and feel, the blockyness especially. The gold fits both with the original wheels of ricochet and the gold wings on G1 Divebomb. The windshield sticker has predacon written across it.
The best part is there are only stickers with one-way alignment, across door seams and the rear license. The stickers also have no problem covering the flame patterns on the doors and hood, so no paint removal is necessary. I don't know how tricky paint removal is but I'd screw it up.
The bot mode has fewer stickers: one on the cod piece, two in the abs region where floor comes together, two logos on his engine/gun, and of course the Decepticon logo for his shoulder. The bot mode stickers do a lot to differentiate Divebomb from Ricochet.
The bad news is there are 3 Decepticon logos in vehicle mode. I can forgive the front license plate but I don't like the logos on the doors. A little to obvious for a robot in disguise.
I suppose one could also use this same sheet on Silverstreak and create Buzzsaw.
Overall this is a great sticker sheet. It's the first one I bought because at the time Ricochet and Rollbar were on clearance so they were cheap. With the cost of the sticker sheets for the two they totaled about what Alternators usually cost. Another plus is that it adds a Decepticon to the good-guy heavy product line and balance is always good. The stickers were easy to apply without a picture, the only one I didn't apply correctly were the stripes on the spoiler. I am very happy with this product. Way to go Reprolabels.com!
