It never ends. At least, not until after Power of the Primes. Machinima has announced the first celebrity voice castings for the followup to the just-ended Titans Return series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Besides those listed in the headline, also mentioned are Gregg Berger, presumably as Grimlock, plus returning cast members Wil Wheaton, Judd Nelson, and Kari Wahlgren. We also have a release date for the series - looks like we'll be able to get this over with relatively quick. Keep reading for the full list!
Hamill is no stranger to the Transformers franchise, having voiced a guest role in the Transformers: Rescue Bots series in 2014. He actually makes his debut in the final episode of Transformers: Titans Return, released Tuesday on the streaming service go90. In it, he plays Megatronus, the first Decepticon, exiled from Cybertron after murdering one of the other original Thirteen Primes.
Megatronus will continue to play a large part in Power of the Primes, where he’ll be joined by Perlman, voicing Optimus Primal, as well as a number of new voice actors including Mikey Way, Jamie King, Gregg Berger — the voice of Grimlock from 1986’s Transformers: The Movie — and WWE’s Samoa Joe, who’ll take on the role of Predaking.
Other actors who’ll return for the final season of the animated series include Wil Wheaton, Judd Nelson and Kari Wahlgren.
Transformers: Power of the Primes, currently scheduled to launch in the second quarter of this year, will close out the trilogy that launched in August 2016 with the first episode of Transformers: Combiner Wars; that series was followed by the 10-part Titans Return. The series is overseen by executive producer F.J. DeSanto, and written by Adam Beechen.
